It is my great honor to welcome you to the official website of the Somaliland Institute of Agricultural Research (SIAR).

Since its establishment, SIAR has been committed to advancing agricultural research, innovation, and knowledge development to support sustainable growth in Somaliland. Agriculture remains the backbone of our economy and the primary source of livelihood for many of our citizens. Strengthening this sector through scientific research, modern technologies, and evidence-based policies is essential to ensuring food security, economic resilience, and improved rural livelihoods.

At SIAR, we strive to generate practical research solutions that respond directly to the needs of farmers, pastoralists, agribusinesses, and policymakers. Our focus includes climate-smart agriculture, improved crop and livestock productivity, natural resource management, and capacity development for extension services.

We believe that collaboration is the cornerstone of progress. Therefore, we continue to strengthen partnerships with government institutions, universities, development partners, and the private sector to foster innovation and knowledge sharing.
